Unlike many of its similarly hard-edged contemporaries, Chimaira features the added novelty of a full-time member who is credited with "lead electronics." Not simply a DJ, knob-twister Chris Spicuzza adds a distinctive palette of ambient noise to the proceedings, which in combination with the sonic mayhem spewed forth by the rest of the band, often makes for a uniquely disconcerting, yet strangely addictive listening experience.
