This release offers 16 tracks of ICP's previously unreleased material. Despite the heavy-handed rap style and the sparsely sprinkled crunching guitar, the lyrics are spouted in a free-spirited, light-hearted manner, dulling the sharp edges with a nice dose of fun. The tracks vary widely from the Three G Mafia-fronted, straight-out rap "Just Another Crazy Click," to the hard rocking "Take It!," the Scottish-tinged "Fly Away," and the acoustic ballad "Take Me Home." This eclecticism makes for a dizzying melange, but for a compilation album, that's not really an issue. FORGOTTEN FRESHNESS VOL. 3 is mostly meant for hardcore fans of the crazy clowns, but anyone looking for a good introduction to the far- out, raucous stylings of ICP could use this disc |
