Band Bids was started to compete with a more well known auction site on the net. Why compete against a giant?
Simple, because we feel that we can offer a much better service if we dedicate our site to music related only auctions. Because we’re such a niche operation, we can offer better services to bands themselves but also to fans of music in general.
Some things we offer now:
Front page media player - Bands that sell items on the site can get their music video or mp3 played right on the front page in our random playlist.
Banners - we’ll make you a banner (and host it) so you can put it on your myspace page or website and let others easily know about your auctions. We’ll link it right to your auctions page and give you the code to copy and paste.
Some things in the works:
Flash widget - a code that you can place on your myspace page or website that will scroll through a list of your open auctions and show pictures/prices/links to your items that fans can click on and go right to your auction item page. This will be available to EVERYONE and should be ready by January 1st!
Bands contest - we will be having different contests for bands (mostly unsigned bands) that will boost not only their audience but ours as well. Coming early 2008.
